    According to the 2021Census of Population, the Village of Berwyn has grown from 538 residents in 2016 to 577 residents in 2021. That is a 7.2% increase. Berwyn is certainly a Village on the grow.

  • Fire Pit Information for Residents

    This is to advise our expectation for building a proper fire pit, or outdoor fireplace. An improper fire pit or fireplace may increase your liability in case of an incident. "Acceptable Fire Pit" means an outdoor receptacle for cooking purposes that only meets the following specifications: a minimum of three meters clearance, measured from the nearest fire pit edge shall be maintained from buildings, property lines or any combustible material; the fire pit height shall not exceed 0.6 meter when measured from the surrounding grade to the top of the pit opening; the outside width, length or diameter of the fire pit opening shall not exceed one meter when measured between the widest outside edges' the fire put installation shall have enclosed sides made from bricks, concrete blocks, heavy gauge metal, or other non-combustible materials acceptable to the Fire Chief; and a Regulation Screen shall be used to cover the fire put opening in a manner sufficient to contain and reduce the hazards of airborne sparks. "Acceptable Fireplace" a minimum of three meters clearance, measured from the nearest fireplace edge shall be maintained from buildings, property lines or any combustible material; the fireplace shall be constructed of materials such as bricks or rocks that are heat and flame resistant; the fireplace shall be equipped with a chimney that is not less that 2.5 meters in height when measured from the based of the fires burning area; the fireplace chimney shall be equipped with a Regulation Screen designed to contain and reduce the hazards or airborne sparks; the base of the fire burning area shall be not less than 0.3 meters above the surrounding grade; and the fire chamber shall not exceed 1.25 meters in width, and shall be at least 0.4 meters but not more than 0.6 meters in depth. We are happy to announce the fire ban has been lifted within Village limits. Please ensure you follow regulations in the Fire Bylaw for fire pits and burning.
