2026 Municipal By-Election
The Village of Berwyn will be conducting a Municipal By-Election to fill one (1) vacant Councillor position on Village Council.
The by-election is being held in accordance with the Municipal Government Act and the Local Authorities Election Act following a vacancy on Council.
Residents are encouraged to participate in this important democratic process by voting on Election Day or, if interested, by running as a candidate for Council.

Important Dates
Nomination Package Available: June 30, 2026
Nomination Day (last opportunity to file nominations): August 24, 2026 at 12 pm.
Deadline for Withdrawal of Nomination: Noon on Tuesday, August 25, 2026
Special Ballot Application: TBD
Advance Voting: September 14-18
Election Day: September 21, 2026 from 10 am to 8 pm
Location: Berwyn Agriculture Hall (old Legion building).

All nominations must be submitted to the Returning Officer before the nomination deadline. Additional questions can also be directed at the Returning Officer.
The Village Office is open for full-time hours: Mon – Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Closed 12:00-1:00 for lunch.

Requests for meetings and submission of nomination packages to the Returning Officer are by appointment only and can be arranged by calling the Village Office in advance, 1-780-338-3922. Nomination packages may also be submitted to the Deputy Returning Officer on behalf of the Returning Officer.
