The Village of Berwyn is pleased to welcome Michael Geoghegan as our new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Michael officially joined the Village on July 27, 2026, working remotely while he prepares to relocate from Campbell River, British Columbia to the Berwyn area.

With extensive leadership experience in government, economic development, municipal administration, and the private sector, Michael brings a wealth of knowledge to the role. His background includes serving as Chief of Staff to a British Columbia Cabinet Minister, working as a Chief Administrative Officer and Economic Development Officer, leading a green energy startup as CEO, and providing government relations consulting across British Columbia, Alberta, and the federal government.

“I look forward to getting to know Council, staff, residents, and local businesses while working together to build on the Village's strengths,” says Michael. “My focus is on delivering results that support investment, create opportunities, and help Berwyn continue to grow and thrive."

Michael is looking forward to becoming part of the Berwyn community and working alongside Council, staff, residents, and local businesses to help support the Village's future.

"Council is pleased to welcome Michael to the Village of Berwyn," said Mayor Nicole Johnson. "His diverse background in leadership, economic development, and municipal administration will be a tremendous asset to our community. We look forward to working together as we continue building on the opportunities ahead and wish him every success in his new role."

Please join us in giving Michael a warm Berwyn welcome.* *Name pronunciation note: Michael's last name, Geoghegan, is pronounced to rhyme with "Reagan."
