The Village of Berwyn is pleased to share the Traffic Calming & Speed Survey Results Report, which summarizes feedback received through the survey conducted between February 23 and March 6, 2026. A total of 94 responses were received from residents, property owners, and other vested individuals, providing valuable input on speeding concerns, traffic-calming measures, and potential solutions within the Village.
Residents are encouraged to review the summary report HERE.
Council discussed the Traffic Calming & Speed Survey Results Report at the May Council meeting, and based on community feedback received and ongoing safety concerns around parks and playgrounds, it was agreed that existing speed bumps will remain in those areas to help support pedestrian and child safety, particularly in the Glenmeyer Park area. Council also directed Administration to proceed with reducing the speed limit on 50 Street to 30 km/h to improve safety, and requested that the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) provide two digital speed readers for installation along 50 Street — one at the north end and one at the south end of the community.
Council appreciates everyone who took the time to complete the survey and share their feedback. The Village has also shared pertinent information from the survey with the RCMP and the MD of Peace and will continue advocating to the RCMP for increased patrols and enforcement within the Village.
Council would also like to take this opportunity to thank Citizens on Patrol (COP) volunteers for their continued efforts in helping monitor and report unsafe or suspicious activity in the community. Residents wanting to get involved in COP can call the Village office, and all residents are reminded to continue reporting any aggressive driving or unsafe behaviour to the RCMP.
