Snow Removal Priority Overview

The Village of Berwyn follows the order of priority below after a snowfall of 7 cm or greater. While extreme weather may impact timelines, the priority sequence remains the same as listed below. Thank you to residents for their patience and understanding as we deal with the heavy snowfall and our small Public Works crew works through these priorities.
EMERGENCY ROUTES
• Snow plowing and sanding begins within 24 hours of a snowfall of 7 cm or greater
• All Village entrances are completed first:
-East by the tower
-South near Tower Park
-West entrance past the MD of Peace Office
-North entrance toward the gravel road exit
SCHOOL BUS ROUTES
• Snow plowing and sanding begins within 24 hours of a snowfall of 7 cm or greater and will be maintained as needed to maintain safe roadway width.
RESIDENTIAL STREETS (Includes back alleys that serve as the only access to residences)
• Snow plowing and sanding begins within 72 hours of a snowfall of 7 cm or greater.
PARKING LOTS (Village Office and Fire Hall)
• Snow plowing as required at the discretion of the Public Works Foreman following a snowfall of 7 cm or greater.
INDUSTRIAL SECTION
• Snow plowing will begin when severe drifting, rutting, or accumulated snow makes roads difficult or unpassable.
OTHER BACK ALLEYS
• Snow plowing will commence as needed at the discretion of the Public Works Foreman.
