License Required for Backyard Hens

The Village of Berwyn would like to remind residents that a license is required to keep backyard hens.

Licenses are $50 per calendar year and are available at the Village office. Note that a maximum of four hens are permitted per property, and roosters are not allowed, in accordance with Domestic Animal Control Bylaw 659. A free Premises Identification (PID) number is also required and can be obtained online through the Government of Alberta: https://partners.agric.gov.ab.ca/pid/welcome.page
